Introduction to Primates Introduction to Primates Welcome to the WildlifeCampus Behaviour Guide to Primates Course! This module with just a single component takes an in-depth introductory look at Primates. We explore their taxonomy, traits, ancestry, distribution, ecology, social organisation, activity, postures and locomotion, social behaviour, reproduction, parent and offspring behaviour and anti-predator behaviour.
Bush babies and pottos Bush babies and pottos The taxonomy, traits, ancestry, distribution, ecology, social organisation, activity, postures and locomotion, social behaviour, reproduction, parent and offspring behaviour and anti-predator behaviour of the bush babies are examined from an individual species perspective.
Old World monkeys Old World monkeys This module of five components takes a look at the old world monkeys. These include the Mangabeys, Sykes and Vervet monkey, as well as ubiquitous Chacma baboon.
Colobus monkeys Colobus monkeys This module contains two components dealing with the group of African Primates known as the Colobus monkeys. These include an Introduction and an in-depth look at the Black and White Colobus species.
Great Apes Great Apes This module takes a detailed look at the species most closely related to ourselves, the gorilla and the chimpanzee. An introduction to this group is also included.
