Social structure, traditions, religious practices of the San and Khoikhoi, as well as a brief look at the ‘Karretjie people’
Discover the history of the province
Best know for its wild flower display in spring. Towns along the N7 and N14, West Coast, Richtersveld and the Hantam Karoo are explored.
A general introduction to the Karoo and towns along the N1, N9, N10, N11 and N12.
Including Hopetown (where first diamond was discovered), Colesberg, De Aar, Victoria West, Britstown and Orania.
The Frances Baard District Municipality is rich in diamond and Anglo-Boer War history. The capital of the province, Kimberley, as well as other towns (mainly along the N18) is explored.
The Green Kalahari
The Siyanda District municipality’s main town is Upington and other towns that also benefit from irrigation from the Orange River. Towns along the N10 and N14 are explored, as well as the Augrabies NP and the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.
The Kgalagadi District municipality’s main town is Kuruman. Other towns along the N14, including the famous iron-ore mine at Dingleton (Sishen) and the ‘town under the trees’, are explored. Other towns include Hotazel, Black Rock, Van Zylsrus and Lohatla.
